Open Call QMA Artist Collective 2025
Since 2019, the initiative QUESTION ME & ANSWER has published at least one annual Open Call for artists to participate in the QMA Artist Collective. The call in 2025 is already the eighth. Information about the programme and the participants of the last QMA Artist Collectives can be found on our ⤇ website. As part of the QMA Artist Collective, selected artists work in pairs with another artist for several months on new artworks. The pairs are put together by the curators in such a way that both artists find new perspectives on their artistic work and develop artistically in the course of the collaboration. The QMA Artist Collective programme offers:
- The opportunity to work closely with a group of 14 artists over the course of a year
- Space for interdisciplinary work
- Close collaboration and feedback from curators throughout the entire process
- Space for intensive exchange with a selected artist
- Space to reflect on your own artistic practice
- An alternative to existing art bubbles by getting to know new artists
- Access to renowned art and cultural institutions and commercial galleries
The call is addressed to two different groups of artists. On the one hand, to artists who have been living in Vienna for a long time and are well embedded in the art scene and, on the other hand, to artists who are new to Vienna and do not yet have a good network. As part of the project, they work in pairs on artworks, form networks and support and inspire each other in their artistic work. The programme lasts eight months (April - November 2025), with fewer events during the summer months.
