The Photography Annual PIPELINE 2015

It is our pleasure to announce this year call for Pipeline’s juried photography issue. Taiwan-based curator Esther Lu and Indonesia-based curator Alia Swastika are joining our Editor-in-Chief Cristina Sanchez-Kozyreva in the selection of the best submissions. Eligibility: This Call for Entries is open to all photographers with a particular interest in making works relevant to issues of contemporary art (reportage or fashion photography are excluded). Pipeline magazine invites personal visions, progressive experimental and mixed techniques, all mediums and schools of thought, with a particular emphasis on singularity and novelty, independently of your age. We encourage submissions with images from a single project for a cohesive selection for the juried issue with a maximum of 12 images. A cohesive photography project shows the jury that you’ve carefully edited your selection and are committed to your photography work (submissions without concept, exceedingly large selections, links to websites without explanations will be excluded at once). Please send low-resolution files, possibly in a single PDF, along with a statement about your body of work to PhotoPipeline2015@mail.com Please simplify your presentation (galleries wishing to help their artists submit shouldn’t clutter submissions with non-relevant material). !!!! Only submissions that follow these guidelines will be considered. Please note that due to the large amount of submissions we receive every year we cannot answer to everyone. If you don’t hear from us by mid-June, please consider that your submission hasn’t been chosen and kindly consider re-applying next year. Please also note that members of the Jury will not get to choose from the pool of artists of the country they work in, in order to avoid conflict of interest. *IMPORTANT RECAP: + Images should be easy to screen (low res, in one pdf will be favoured) max 600 words statement (submissions with a brief statement showing there is direction in the work would be favoured) clear personal details: contact, year of birth, location of work and birthplace. Mail to: PhotoPipeline2015@mail.com Submission Deadline: Saturday May 30th, midnight Hong Kong time. Please check the time in Hong Kong, any submissions after the deadline won’t be accepted. Acceptance notification: Selected artists will be notified personally by email between June 11th and 14th, 2015, and promptly required to send high-resolution images for printing in Pipeline summer issue. Make the arrangements to be easily contacted and able to send hires even if you are travelling. Please do not contact Pipeline or any members of the jury to inquire about whether your images were chosen. Use Rights: Artists maintain copyright on all of their work. By submission, artists grant Pipeline the right to print their images and profiles for the purpose of showing their works in the July/August 2015 issue of the magazine, The Photography Annual, for marketing the magazine and for reproduction online, all in relation and limited to The Photography Annual and the magazine. Artist’s recognition is provided with any use. Submitting artists will be added to Pipeline’s newsletter subscriber list. They may opt out using a link on each newsletter at any time. Please read these guidelines carefully, still can’t find the answer to a question after reading the above? Please contact Pipeline at PhotoPipeline2015@mail.com GOOD LUCK AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR SUBMISSIONS!! Pipeline is the Hong Kong based, internationally open, niche yet accessible contemporary bilingual art magazine that draws links between artistic practices thematically. Its layout is great and it also comes with a concise calendar for the best galleries in Asia. Pipeline comes out preciously six times a year! PipelineMag
