Call for Entries THE SOURCE-CORD PRIZE

The 2013 judges were Charlotte Cotton and Diana Edkins, and the first prize of $10,000 was won by Eva Stenram for her work Drape. In 2014 Lindsay formed a collaboration with Source magazine to create the Source-Cord Prize. Source is a leading photography magazine published in the UK since 1992. The prizes consist of an individual first prize of $10,000, a second prize of $1,000 and a third prize of $500. The work selected for first prize will also be published in Source magazine with a commissioned essay. Additionally, twenty-two artists will be selected for online exhibition and everyone submitting will receive a free one-year digital subscription to Source magazine. The Judges are: Kate Bush (United Kingdom), a leading art curator and critic, specialising in international art and photography; Stefanie Grebe (Germany), visiting curator at the Ruhr Museum, Essen; John Duncan (Northern Ireland), an artist and editor of Source magazine since 1994 and Mariko Takeuchi (Japan), an independent curator, photography critic and associate professor of Kyoto University of Art and Design. The objective of the award is to discover new work. Submissions are welcome from anywhere in the world and can include up to 16 images. How to Enter Register online and pay the $30 entry fee for the award. You will be taken to your upload page where you can submit and edit your entry. Artists can submit up to 16 images from a body of work, which does not have to be a single project. We also require a short introductory text. See below for more information on the submission process. What to Submit The aim of the Source-Cord Prize is to discover new work. All photographic processes are welcome and submissions are invited from artists for whom photography is their whole or partial practice. Applications should be accompanied by a short text of up to 400 words introducing the work you are submitting. This text must be in English (the common language for the judges) but please note, we wish to encourage submissions from photographers for whom English is not their first language. The text is to help the judges, it will not be judged for the quality of its written English.
